God of Peace in Mind & Heart: A Global Solution |
8. The God of Peace in your heart and mind will Keep You. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:4-9) |
8a. Actually by way of our education in Christ and edification, exhortation, and comfort IN Christ, the bottom line of 4:9 is that "the God peace shall be with you", after having reading before in 4:4-9 about the (1) learning process in Christ which reminds one of Ephesians 4:20-21--"But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus..."; and (2) using the Christian Mind to THINK of good things, pure, and worthy, etc. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." 8b. Surely you don't object to some "virtue" and some "praise" then in 8d below, this is what you can think about! 8c. You know about prerequisites; well, if the prerequisites of 4:4-6 are met, then the Bible as the Word of God is a written guarantee of 4:7-- "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (4:7) 8d. The list of requirements in 4:4-6 for the greatest of understanding {the best way to find your fate} in the "peace of God" keeping the heart and mind all by way of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God: (1). "Rejoice" and then rejoice some more and continually in the Lord Jesus Christ; (2). Live a moderate life that all your neighbors can see; (3). Think continually about the Second Coming of Christ which is very imminent. (4). Pray continually to God with thanksgiving and petitions. |
