Romans Flight Plan Debrief Debrief: A Quick Summary of Flight Based on the 9 Navigation Aids of column 4. 1. Romans 1:25. “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” NOTES for Waypoint A a. First of all look at the respect the Apostle Paul had for God the Creator. b. Each generation of Man once at the age of accountability and predisposed to rebellion and unbelief by a sinful human nature, repeats individually what civilizations did in history over a period of thousands of years. 2. Romans 2:11. “For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” (Romans 2:11- 15) NOTES for B a. Much like the law of gravity and Newton's 3 laws of motion in the physical world of the humna body, in the spiritual world of the soul God made at the same time as the body is a Law for the Soul. b. That law of the soul is written in the heart or conscience of every man and society, so that it is natural for man to accuse and excuse according to that built in conscience; and it is that excusing and accusing of socities and individuals that bespeaks of that internal and inherent Law of the Soul. c. That Law of God is based on His character, implanted in man's soul with the image of God, reminding man automatically of accountability to the God/Creator. d. God is not a respector of Persons—male or female, religious or non- relgious, Jew or Gentiles or Greek, heathen or not heathen, and those with the written Law of the Bible or the unwritten law of the soul. e. Doers of the Law {written or unwritten} are justified by God, not the religious hearers of the law alone. 3. Romans 5:1. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...” NOTES C1 a. Justification by faith is independent of any works or not works of the law, and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. b. Jesus in His death on the cross, called the Atonement, made peace between God and Man, thus providing an inward peace for men who recognized that all at that moment was right between him and the God/Father/Creator. 4. Romans 6:4. “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” NOTES C2 a. What most call “salvation” in the Bible is the “one baptism” of self being crucified with and IN Christ; then not I but Christ living in the Me/Self of the heart and soul which is the resurrection part that man is allowed to duplicate like Christ. b. This resurrection of the One Baptism of Salvation is what the Bible calls living or walking or a lifestyle of “newness of life”. 5. Romans 6:23. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” NOTES C3 a. None of all this flight, or theology or Bible makes sense without considering the original penalty in the Garden God placed on man and woman that sin inevitable after a lifetime will lead to death; that the curse on man was also a curse on the total creation; and that “if in this world we have hope only we are of all men most miserable” (I Corinthians x:xx) b. God provided at that very moment after first sin a plan for Eternal Life through the promised Atonment, Jesus dying on the cross for the sins of the world. c. That plan of salvation is a gift least any man or religious group should boast. 6. Romans 8:1. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1-4) NOTES D1 a. IN CHRIST there is no condemnation of Men and their offences. b. Those IN CHRIST must walk and live with a life style of not flesh but Spirit. {Of course this Spirit is the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of Christ inside.} c. You see after the law of gravity, Newtons 3 laws of motion, and the Law of the inward character of God, comes another fourth LAW, “the law of the Spirit of life IN CHRIST Jesus”. d. The Law of the Spirit of Life In Christ liberates one from the law of sin and death as established in the Garden of Eden. {Yes, does it surprise you that all these laws just like gravity and Newtons came from the Creator God.} e. The law of sin and death was weak through the frailties of human flesh, but the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ is able to fulfill the righteousness of God, declared and achieved. 7. Romans 8:18. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.” (Romans 8:14-23) NOTES on D2: there is just no better way to explain it in contemporary American English than in the original words of Romans 8:14-23 in the King's English of 1611. {Much, much greater than Shakespeare who some think served under King James to be a part of the translating committee.} 8. Romans 8:39. {More than Conquerors!} “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39) 9. Retirement from this earth and life on the new earth with a host of new creatures in Christ and with God the Father Himself dwelling on earth and at the New Jerusalem among me. Where it all makes sense? No death, no sorrow, no sin, no rebellion against God and the laws of God. The whole creation—man, and animals, and plants, and earth—that groaned since those thousands of years since the Garden is now completed as God originally intended.
