II Timothy 3:15-17 reminds us: (1) Youth are never too young even from childhood to learn Bible and Jesus; (2) That the word Bible is not in the Bible, the favorite words in the Bible for the Bible are "scripture", "book" for one of the 66 books, plus the "word of the LORD (for God the Father) in the OT and "word of the Lord (for the Lord Jesus Christ) in the NT; and (3) just when we thought we knew everything in the Bible, this research brings more insights on the subject of SCRIPTURES AND CHRIST JESUS, or Bible and Jesus for short; (4) the capability of the Bible is to make man, woman, youth, or child wise all the way to salvation: (5) salvation is only through a certain faith, "faith which IN Christ Jesus"; (6) All Scripture (alias 66 books of Scripture) are given by God as the Source of inspiration; and (7) All the Bible is profitable to children through men {generic man which includes woman}, sort of like a guidebook for living; (8) the Profitable benefits of the Bible is for "doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness"; and (9) the end goal of Bible learning is for perfection or maturity in order that good works will come out of the Christian life at any age! http://www.biblecombibleman.com/SCRIPTURESandCHRISTJESUS.html |
The favorite words of the Bible for Itself are: scripture, scriptures, “word of the LORD” in the OT, “word of the Lord” in the NT, “book” for one of the 66, “volume of the book”, "prophesy", and “All Scripture”. ALL is a good word for all 66 books of the Bible. and certainly, one of the best words for holy scripture that was written through over 40 men over at least seven thousand years, and before that carried on also by the Holy Spirit of God through oral history. We marvel not only at the consistent internal structure of the Bible that bespeaks of the wisdom and power of God, primarily the very character of God; but we also marvel at the survival and transmission of the Bible throughout the world as it has survived the opposition of enemies and the neglect of friends. On Noah's ark, there was surely as much oral history from God in the minds of the last 8 people on earth as there were a complete representation of all the animals of the earth. And besides that, God had the means through the Spirit to inspire men without previous oral history to write the mysterious of what would never had been known except by revelations from God Himself through Jesus and the Spirit. |
II Peter 1:15-21 First The Apostle Peter reminds Christians IN CHRIST of the ASPI version of the Bible as he wrote of "the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ". 1. Apostles like Peter were eyewitnesses of Jesus majesty. 2. They heard the voice of God out of heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son,in whom I am well pleased." 3. They heard this same voice of God on the holy mount, generally called the mount of transfiguration. 4. Peter reminded mankind of a poor sure word of prophesy or testimony, that of the testimony of scriptures to Jesus. |
“Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (II Peter 1:15- 21) |
IIf the ASPI is first reminder from Peter in II Peter 1:15-21, what is second? Well, II Peter 2:1-3-- “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” (II Peter 2:1-3) |
