Turning Away from Reality is Spiritual NOTE: The escape from reality and truth in this message does not include temporary self-denial or crisis amnesia. It took the newscasters, for the most part, to get around the spiritual aspect of the killing of the 20 children at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, and even then it was seeking for comfort rather than an explanation of cause and possible motivations. In attempts you explain it, the newscasters used FBI agents, detectives, psychologists, and even there fellow newscasters {primarily the past news coverage of similar school and theatre killings} to explain possible causes and motivations. You noticed it, solutions for the most part were in terms of MENTAL adjustments, not SPIRITUAL. You would think that across this land of America, there are not thousands of churches every Sunday preaching and teaching on the effects of Christian and non-Christian behavior. Just this unusual phenomenon, within itself, demands an explanation. GIST: However the primary gist of this message on Refreshing Evangelism is that such behavior of this shooter, and other shooters, speaks to the TURNING AWAY FROM truth and reality as a direct result of at least 40 years of the Falling Away in American life, among the shooters, their parents, the community, educators, and the many mediums of a lack of reality like games, TV, and movies. 10-1: If you have not already read online from www. biblecombibleman.com the presentations on “From Follies to Fables” and the personality affects of strong delusions--not with just one youth, but with the cumulative effects of culture, society, and heritage. All is not right with any community, family, or individual--above the age of accountability--, or country and countries education when God is left out. Beyond the very popular tendency to apologize for God and faith in God, Christ, and the Bible is the necessity for convictions and the courage of convictions which beg for expression in a free society like ours! 10-2: It is almost sadistic the news showing of photos of the killed children, and the revelation that one child had 11 bullet holes; which while we know is a combined effort of news, social workers, and eductors for gun control, the reality that needs to be faced is that the shooter looked at the targets unrealistically as rag dolls. 10-3: Bottom line on the spiritual of the Bible on any tragedy like Sandy Hook is “if in this life we only have hope, then we are of all man most miserable” (I Corinthians 15:19), and those who refuse the Refreshing Evangelism obviously keep themselves in despair outside the optimism and hope of the Bible. 10-4: If Refreshing Evangelism has nothing to say on death, it misses half the Bible on life after death; and if you have not already found the Bible on life, you miss the first half. Several persons interviewed at Sandy Hook were heard to say in frustration, at a loss for anything else to say, that “I suppose this is life, and part of life.” Perhaps sufficient for those outside of Christ, and the realities of God, salvation, and the Bible this is sufficient; but oh my, if as Bible believing Christians we leave the message here, we, no doubt, have become fictions of the extremes of the tolerance of the American Democratic faith over Bible convictions and courage of convictions. 10-5: Apart from Christ, God, and the Bible Christians have no answer sufficient for life and death with its implications of good and evil. 10-6: In the case of Job, tragedy was the opportunity for a blessing of God which we would have to call “A Touch of the Eternal”, such a touch of which seldom comes with refreshing to the lives of an increasing number of Americans. 10-7: The effort is not being made in this prophesy of edification, comfort, and exhortation to put Sandy Hook in the category of “Calamites Chase Chastisements” of Jeremiah and Prophesy; however it must be stated in the name of Refreshing Evangelism, that the same falling away that created the intense series of calamities in America since 9/11 has also brought an increase in the “because sin and lawlessness shall abound” like the sin and lawlessness of Sandy Hook. {Yes secular psychologists, killing of any kind, is a sin according to the Bible as well as against the law; and as such is to be dealt with also according to the Bible like with all other sin!} NOTE: Oh hurting one, when you see this beloved child or loved one in the arms of Jesus after either death or the Second Coming, all these tears and griefs will be wiped away! “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) In fact, the Bible promises believers that “the former things will be remembered no more”. Granted Sandy Hook, one of the most painful aspect of this tragedy is the horrible memories that will not go away; but just imagine the eternity where such memories will be remembered no more. NOTE: I bet you can’t get your secular psychologist or most advisors and counselors to say “You will not remember this tragedy in eternity, goodness you will have this precious child in your arms in your permanent new home, made by God, on the new earth. 10-8: Face up to realities, it is the responsibility of school administrators, educators, and the police to protect America children once they are out in public, once they have been entrusted by the family for proper care. If you must, like so many citizens have learned recently, let someone at school get trained to meet the hidden gun law. 10-9: The same public that ignores even the subject of death, has already made one step to “turning away from truth”. 10-10: Most families in America have a child in school, therefore should also deal with life and death; and Refreshing Evangelism from the Bible is qualified to deal with life and death. Death like life, requires “times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord”. After all, Job because of his enduring faith in God, received such a refreshing from God Himself, years before Peter preached! 10-11: Let’ face a hard reality, there are serious consequences to pay when any country, including America, builds up growth in the neglect of God, like the Bible states in Romans, a refusal “to retain God in their knowledge” (Romans 1:28); and certainly to all who consider knowledge as contained in the mentality, here we and the secular psychologists have common ground--hardly though they would commit to the full quote of the Bible below, nor would the sociologists, educators, and social workers. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not convenient...,” (Romans 1:28) 1. Since the description of what happens to any society as they excuse themselves from God, we can join in with the seculars in attributing some evil to the mental; that is, “God gave them over to a debased mind.” 2. All, especially in America, are born and raised with a certain knowledge of God; although the obvious neglect of family and culture create a social environment that excuses God and faith in God. 3. No person is ready for crisis without the comfort of God, Christ, and the Bible; primarily because most have no meaning apart from the consolations of eternity. Heaven and the new earth is Gods own plan for justice for all, and without waiting and hoping for that justice you can find no meaning. 4. Even as it is not convenient to be a gay, in the sight and Bible of God, that is just the example of inconvenient behaviors when any society neglects Go dl Can you take the list, one might say the roll of dishonor in society? It is a semi-colon continuation in Romans 1:29 from Romans 1: 28 above See if it does not help to explains many such unwarranted tragedies as Sandy Hook, Columbine, and the Aurora theatre. “...being filled with all unrighteousness, sexuality immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness, they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, not only do the same but also approve of those who practise them.” (Romans 1:29-32) The human soul includes a heart, a mind, and a will; and if you neglect the soul’s need for God and right, you neglect the most eternal aspects of character and personality, you create a vacuum that evil rushes into, and where good should dwell and thrive! 10-12: Could the failure to hear and express such convictions as these Bible thoughts on Refreshing Evangelism, but an intolerable compromise with the convictions of the world, or perhaps a tacit admission that churches and church members are not as Christian as they thought? “For the time will come {has come, we must say} when they {obviously Christians and church members, or any that once had strong convictions} will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires {even as a failure to think abut God starts with “likes”, so the practical matter where churches either heap up or heap out teachers of sound doctrine starts with what these same church members “wants”}, because they have itching ears {in 2 quick phrases we have from the original church organiser, we have both the how and the why of failures at all sound doctrine including the retention of the teachings of God and about God}, they will heap up for themselves teachers {oh the heaping up today of false prophets}; and they will turn their ears away from the truth {they just plain stop listening to only that which tickles their ears and comforts them}, and be turned aside to fables.” (II Timothy 4:3,4) NOTE that it is God the Father Himself, that after witnessing that historical point in history called the great apostasy or falling way, then it is He that turns them aside to fables! Or bare min, permits it! |
